Last week, we made you feel lazy

with the story of a woman who completed a marathon, then gave birth to a baby. This week, it’s a 100-year-old man who will make you feel bad for not getting up to work out.

Yes, a 100-year-old man completed the Toronto Marathon.

 Fauja Singh

will be noted in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the oldest person to complete the 26.2-mile race. He finished it in just over eight hours as family and friends cheered him on.

Nicknamed the “Turbaned Tornado,”

which is also the name of his biography, Singh said that he hit a wall at 22 miles, but continued on.

His coach, and translator

Harmander Singh, said: “Just before we came around the final corner, he said that ‘achieving this will be like getting married again’. He’s absolutely overjoyed, he’s achieved his lifelong wish.”
The best part of Singh’s story is that this was his eighth marathon, and he didn’t start running the long distance races until he was 89.
