And this is the same product database that was used to fuel an earlier leak, which indicated that the Galaxy S III was going to launch in white and blue.

In other words, the database has a

pretty good track record when it comes to Galaxy S III colors (one for one!)

If that’s not enough to convince you, however, Android Police’s David Ruddock offers up one other piece of evidence that, combined with the product database leak, makes the eventual announcement of a black Galaxy S III even more likely. And this one’s from Samsung itself.

Recent images posted to Samsung’s Facebook page as part of an Olympics-themed promotion show off a Samsung Galaxy S III that looks very, very black.

If that’s not an indication that Samsung

is for-sure going with that color in a future iteration of the phone, it’s instead, “such a poorly color adjusted version of the Pebble Blue version that Samsung should probably fire the Photoshopper responsible,” Ruddock writes .

At what were called the first social media Olympics, both remarks made it around the world in seconds. The punishment came almost as quickly: Go home.

The athletes who misbehaved were drowned out anyway. Tens of thousands of people flocked daily into Olympic Park. They filled Olympic stadium for morning heats. They gave the handball arena a new name: The Box That Rocks.

They camped out on the grass to watch the action on big screens. Flags – the Union Jack most prominently – became shirts and shorts, caps and capes, earrings and nail polish. Fans wore their national colors proudly, and literally.

And what a show they saw.

Bolt, the Jamaican track sensation,

blew away the field in the 100 meters in 9.63 seconds and the 200 in 19.32, becoming the first athlete to win both sprints at consecutive Olympics.

He was so dominant that sometimes the question was not just whether he would win but whether he would run at full speed to the finish line – and what theatrics he would produce to celebrate.

He did pushups on the track. He struck the pose of an ancient, triumphant Olympian, or perhaps a superhero.

“I am now a living legend,”

he said. “Bask in my glory.”

Bolt struck a third time on the next-to-last night of the games, running a blistering anchor leg to set a world record in the 4×100 relay for his third gold. He was so good that track officials let him keep the baton.

Elsewhere on the track, Kenya’s David Rudisha led for the entire race in the 800 meters and broke his own world record by a tenth of a second. The standout performance of the games, proclaimed no less a track star than Coe himself.

Carmelita Jeter anchored the American 4×100-meter relay team

to a winning time of 40.82 seconds, more than half a second better than a mark that had stood for more than a quarter-century.

The United States used a dominant showing in track and field to blow past China and lock up the races for total medals and for golds. Going into the final day, the United States had 44 gold medals, one shy of its record for an Olympics on foreign soil.

DNS Changer Malware: What to Do If Your Computer’s Hit

You might want to join the thousands of people who are checking their computers to make sure they won’t lose connection.

The FBI’s temporary Internet servers will

go dark Monday, leaving thousands of unsuspecting malware-infected individuals without online access.

What temporary Internet servers, you ask?

They might have been connecting you to Facebook, YouTube, and – ahem! – ABCNews.com for the last month, and you didn’t even know it. Really.

Why is this happening?

It all has to do with a piece of computer malware called DNS Changer.

It started in 2007, when a group of hackers – six Estonians and one Russian – allegedly started masquerading as Internet advertisers who were paid by the click, according to an 2011 indictment from the

US Attorney General’s Office

in the Southern District of New York . In other words, if an ad got more clicks, they pocketed more cash.

So they figured out a way to beat the system, according to the indictment. They created a piece of malware, called DNS Changer, that tampered with the DNS – the thing that takes a website address and finds the numerical IP address to connect you to that website – redirecting millions of Internet users to sites they didn’t search for.

For instance, if your computer was infected and you clicked a link to go to Netflix, you would wind up at

“BudgetMatch,” according to the FBI.

The practice is called “click hijacking.”

Once the FBI got around to fixing the problem in 2011, it realized it couldn’t simply shut down the rogue servers because infected computers would be left without a functioning DNS, leaving them virtually Internet-less. So it set up temporary servers to give malware-infected Internet users time to fix their computers.

Thursday, saying an error in its computer system caused tens of thousands of fireworks on four barges to go off simultaneously with a single command.

“It was like a giant, serious bomb went off,

” said Mike Newton, 29, a photographer who watched from a friend’s 28th-floor apartment. “That’s what it looked like and felt like. It hit you right in the chest. “

There were no reported injuries and Garden State Fireworks, based in Millington, NJ, apologized and vowed to determine precisely what went wrong. The 122-year-old company produced hundreds of other shows across the country Wednesday night.

By late Thursday afternoon, the fireworks flop had become a hit online with about 2 million views of the footage on YouTube.

Sponsors contributed about $ 380,000

to host the show, said Sandy Purdon, owner of a bay marina and the chief organizer. The Port of San Diego contributed $ 145,000 as title sponsor, with hotels and restaurants giving much of the rest.

The port district gave an additional $ 50,000 worth of services, including traffic control, portable toilets and cleanup.

The fireworks cost $ 125,000 and the barges and tugs cost $ 45,000, Purdon said. After permits, publicity, buses and other costs, there was about $ 50,000 left, which was earmarked to help young military families though the San Diego Armed Services YMCA.

The port district said in a statement that it was “very disappointed” in what it described as an apparent technical error.

“We are a good strong company, and we rely on technology. We’ll take the ridicule as long as no one was injured, “Santore said.

The debacle will likely fuel a long-running controversy in San Diego about damage that fireworks displays inflict on marine life. Environmental attorney Marco Gonzalez has repeatedly challenged shows that take place over water, inviting ire and ridicule from critics including San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders.

Gonzalez recently prevailed in court decisions but

decided against trying to block this year’s show in La Jolla Cove. Still, organizers of a fireworks show over San Diego’s Lake Murray canceled this year’s show, saying they feared a lawsuit.

“The notion that fireworks are critical to Independence Day celebrations has just been blown out of proportion with these large shows,” Gonzalez said.
